Well, i was not that involved in these carnivals, i went to "Garabato del Country" "La Guacherna" and i' m not sure if i should include this as a carnival moment but i went to "El Festival de la Cerveza". So, in the "Garabato del country" i was with some friends in "El Parque Washington", the night was alright but i was not focus on the performance because i was having fun with my friends, i know.. that is not the objective of Carnivals but i enjoyed it :), The night of "La Guacherna" was another story, i was enjoying the dances, the costumes, the music, and so. But i had a problem with a guy who said that i was on his chair (that´s not true) and he paid for it, i chose to ignore him but when i stand up over my chair, he literally pushed me making me fall. At first i was angry but after 5 minutes i was laughing ..so for me, this is one of my favorite moments.
Carnivals do not have any special objetive in my opinion, it is just a matter of culture. The way you enjoyed with your friends is YOUR own way to express our culture. Everyone is free to ejoy these festivities as they want!
